During the Spieker Point Inc. open house, Walter Schwabe from FusedLogic TV interviews Sara Hallberg the Marketing Manager at Spieker Point about the types of issues Spieker Point can help solve.

 

Walter Schwabe:

“We’re here at Spieker Point Software Engineering and Solutions at their open house and eighth anniversary. Welcome to FusedLogic TV. I’m your host Walter Schwabe. I’m joined by Sara Hallberg. She’s the Marketing Manager here at Spieker Point. How are you Sara?”

Sara Hallberg:

“Really good. How are you?”

Walter Schwabe:

“Very good thank you. Having a great open house tonight lots of folks coming through and getting to probably meet the company for the first time certainly in this new office that you have what are some of the questions that clients like to ask you you know first time out they’ve just heard about Spieker Point what are some of the things they ask you in general?”

Sara Hallberg:

“Oh that’s a really good question. Sometimes they just want to get a feel for who we are and how we can help them or in general what services we offer them. Software I find is a really hard concept sometimes to sell because sometimes that means that they are already having difficulties in their business and they’re already frustrated so rather than trying to say we help them with software we want to say we want to help you look at your business processes and see what kind of data you have at hand and meet them higher up when they’re not already frustrated because they have issues with their day to day data capture.”

Walter Schwabe:

“We had Greg on the set earlier and he was talking about the ideal client being one that’s grown a lot their business processes are in a bit of a mess just because you grow so fast all of a sudden what you used to do isn’t working now so that’s really a sweet spot for you guys in terms of the kind of services that you provide. What kind of industries do you guys do business in?”

Sara Hallberg:

“We have done business with pretty much any industry you can think of and that’s what’s really neat about the services that we offer is that a lot of the businesses that have grown too fast and they have growing pains and all these that haven’t been able to fit their processes into where their business is currently at is that they can be found in government they can be found in the manufacturing of oil and gas the construction or even manufacturing types of businesses.”

Walter Schwabe:

“Well we’ve had folks talk to us about HR and the impact of how fast the province is growing a lot of companies are looking for people so they’re using analytics to help them find the right people for their company you know we’ve talked about insurance fraud and security related to that it’s just a fascinating area and you’re right just about every company regardless of size now has an analytics opportunity I like to call it to leverage it in a different way.”

Sara Hallberg:

“And even in regards to the industry because pretty much any industry that you have you’re going to have data and if you don’t already have data that’s accessible to you then you might be stuck in papers in a filing cabinet or even on an excel spreadsheet and you can’t draw from it the way you need to we can even come in at that point and help develop something for you where you can collect the right data so that you can answer the questions you want to have answered.”

Walter Schwabe:

“That’s the software development side of the business where you develop a specific application.”

Sara Hallberg:

“Yeah.”
